AFRICA – and all that it offers - Gemma Russell Africa Specialist
I am very excited when I am asked about holiday to Africa. The country is so vast and diverse with so many holiday and touring options available.
In South Africa, known as the “Rainbow Nation”, there will always be a welcome waiting for you. Whether you are looking for a family friendly hotel, a romantic honeymoon or a tour, there is something for everyone. On a recent trip, Cape Town was my first stop then onto Hermanus (for whale watching during May-October), Stellenbosch and Franschhoek in the Winelands – and of course your trip would not be complete without a visit to one of the Game Reserves – on this occasion the Inverdoorn Game Reserve (approximately 3 hours drive).
When choosing where to stay along the route you are spoilt for choice; from small boutique hotels and guest houses to luxury hotels and spas. My own favourite has to be The Radisson Blu in Cape Town located on the waterfront overlooking the ocean – amazing!!!
Other popular destinations include Kenya with a visit to the Amboseli National Park in the shadows of Mount Kilimanjaro contrasted against the unspoilt tropical beaches, not forgetting The Great Rift Valley and the Masai Mari Game Reserve.
In contrast, Botswana is a bird-lovers’ sanctuary – not forgetting hippos and elephants to be viewed in abundance. It would be remiss not to mention Rwanda and Uganda where you will see amazing animal wildlife in their natural habitat.
What makes Africa a great country to visit is that it is a year round destination; the seasons are the reverse of ours but their average winter temperatures are around 16 degrees and cooler temperatures are sometimes more suitable for safari visits as you are more likely to see animals in cooler temperatures when they are more active.
I have only touched on some of the amazing places in Africa and would love to speak to you about your own personal holiday ideas and help to plan the perfect trip for you.

I look forward to helping you create your African Experience.
