Barcelona itself:
We can recommend a great place for you to stay that allows you to both enjoy the sights of historic Barcelona and the beachy vibe that is produced and discussed in the rest of this blog. The H10 Marina Barcelona is one of our favoured hotels for visiting Barcelona. It’s located near the Marina meaning just a short walk to the Bar and Beach mentioned in this blog. Staying just a little bit out of the La Rambla part of Barcelona not only allows your money to go further, but also allows you to enjoy retiring away from the buzzing streets if you wish to. If you walk to La Rambla it is approximately a 15 minute walk- a taxi only 5 minutes for less than 5 euros. There are plenty of other ways to get around by using the public transport- the Metro Ciutadella/Vila Olímpica stop is only a few minutes away from the hotel and buses are frequently passing the streets surrounding the hotel.
Looking for an icy refreshment after a long day soaking up the sun on the beach? Look no further than the Icebarcelona bar on the beach front at the Marina. On entry you will be given a puffer jacket that keeps you warm and toasty as you enter the icy cove, gloves are provided to keep your hands safe from frostbite as you take your sip of your cocktail from a glass made from ice (how fitting). The average visitor stays no longer than 45 minutes- so it’s a perfect amount of time to take some snaps (as we did). Prices are 15 euros to get in but its worth it as you get a free drink included in this cost as well as your weather protective gear.
How to get there: It’s address is Ramón Trías Fargas, 2.
So take Metro L4 (Yellow Line) to Ciutadella/Vila Olímpica get off and walk along the beach front- you can’t miss it.
Barceloneta Beach:
Located along the Port Olympic (the old fishing village) this beach is one of the most popular locations for tourists visiting the Spanish city. Filled with bars and restaurants such as Restaurante Carballeira, there is plenty to indulge in. On top of this there are plenty of watersports during the summer period to partake in. You’ll see many locals rollerblading or running along the front on an evening, so if you like the wind in your hair pack a pair of trainers for this sight.
Why not skip the busiest time of the day and visit in the morning for a leisurely stroll across this beautiful beach?
If you are interested in visiting Barcelona, we can put a package together for you depending on what you would like to do during your stay. Not only can we offer advice on pre-booking excursions but we can also save you time and money in comparison to many online websites.
