I recently took my 4 year old twin girls to Disneyland Paris for the first time and here are my tips as to how to make your holiday even more magical for Princesses of this age!!!
My girls, as all girls of that age, love the Princesses and so they wore their dresses (one Rapunzel and one Sleeping Beauty!) while we were there. They got so much attention from all the Disney characters they saw because they were wearing their dresses!!! The favourite moment was my daughter being waved at by Sleeping Beauty and her Prince in the parade because they noticed her Sleeping Beauty dress!!!!
Make sure you go up the stairs in the Castle – its not very big but is the story of Sleeping Beauty told via pictures in stained glass windows – we had to go up there at least 4 times!!!!!!
It was also their 4th birthdays just before we went so the trip was kind of to celebrate this. If you go to Disney to celebrate your child’s birthday make sure you tell the hotel before you arrive. We stayed at the Newport Bay and when we checked in they presented me with two birthday envelopes which had a birthday card signed by Mickey and Minnie and lots of their friends and a badge it. It also had a number on the back to call from the hotel phone and they got a Happy Birthday message from Mickey himself!! You can imagine the excitement this caused!! Make sure the Birthday badge is worn as they get loads of attention from the characters and staff, we got lots of Happy Birthday wishes!!
I pre paid with my booking for a birthday cake and arranged for this to be presented while we were having our evening meal in Café Mickey. This restaurant is where all the characters are walking round and the children get to have photos with them, have their autograph books signed etc. My girls even bounced with Tigger which was one of the highlights of their holiday! Goofy presented the birthday cake to them and helped blow their candles out and the look on their faces when he came to the table was priceless – I would recommend this to anyone!
If your little Princesses want to meet the real Princesses you have to go and queue at the Princess Pavillion which is in Fantasyland near It’s a Small World. A Word of warning – get there early as you have to queue to get a time to go back and meet the Princesses. We actually decided against doing this as my daughters don’t queue very well!!! But I have friends who have done this and queued for over an hour but said it was well worth it in the end!!!
There is the chance of meeting some of the Princesses with other characters at the Stars and Cars meet and greet in Disney Studios. Its hit and miss as to who you will see but we met Jasmine and Aladdin among many many others!! Make sure you pick up a copy of the what’s on guide for that week which gives you information as to what shows and meet and greets are happening in each park.
