Leah from the Hull Branch has the opportunity to sample Majorca, these is her blog on he vist.
I flew with Jet2 from Leeds Bradford airport to Palma airport. The flight duration was 2 hours, 45 minutes. Whilst in Leeds Bradford airport, we were invited into the Yorkshire Lounge which offers a wide variety of food as well as all of your drinks (including a choice of alcoholic and soft drinks). The first hotel that I stayed in was the Iberostar Selection Albufera Park in Playa De Muro. This is an ideal hotel for families with family-based entertainment such as Disney themed evening entertainment and bingo. However, they also have entertainment for the adults such as cocktail making classes and a market with homemade items being sold inside the hotel. There were 4 pools including a children's pool and a children's aqua park. There is the option to upgrade to the Star Prestige level which gives guests extra benefits. Being a Star Prestige guest allows access to a private rooftop pool and upgraded rooms.
I visited the Club Mac which is a very popular family hotel based in Alcudia, it has 7 outdoor pools including an aqua park, splash park and children's pools. One huge benefit of staying here is that all guests have unlimited Hidropark free entry and an additional 10% off all food and drink in the water park for the duration of their stay. This is attractive to parents as it is in a good location being only 600m from the resort centre, plus they offer a free shuttle bus to the port which runs every day between the hours of 7am and 10:30pm. The final hotel I stayed in was the Iberostar Selection Jardin Del Sol Suites. This is a 4-star adult only hotel in the centre of Santa Ponsa. Every room in this hotel has a stunning front sea view. There is one pool available to all guests however, for Star Prestige guests they have access to an additional 2 pools. This hotel is in a perfect location on the seafront and is within walking distance of Santa Ponsa Square and the main strip. The hotel offers entertainment throughout the day including guided walks to the markets and water-based activities. The evening entertainment is amazing with live music. During my stay I had the opportunity to enjoy a live Saxophone performance.
During my trip in Majorca, we visited different areas of the island including Playa De Muro, Santa Ponsa, Palma Nova, Port Alcudia and Magaluf. Port Alcudia is a beautiful part of Majorca with gorgeous views of the turquoise waters. There’s plenty to do with a range of shops, bars, restaurant and cafes down the promenade. The highlight of my trip was visiting Palma Nova. Palma Nova is the home to beautiful beaches. With all the restaurant and bars, you will always have somewhere new to visit. Palma Nova is within walking distance to Magaluf. Magaluf has, in my opinion, the best beach in Majorca. It is the prefect area to stay if you are wanting to explore the nightlife that Majorca has to offer. My top tip for visiting Majorca is that you can get a ferry from Palma across to Ibiza for a day trip. For me, this is an absolute must do to experience during my trip.
