I have recently returned from Universal on an Educational Trip. I spent 4 Nights at Universal in two different hotels.

 

Let me start by saying you’ll probably never see your kids more excited than when you first walk through the gates to Universal Orlando and Especially when they enter The Wizarding World of Harry Potter if they are big Harry Potter fans.

 

Universal is split into 3 different parks, Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure & Volcano Bay. My favourite park was Islands of adventure as it has a lot of the Harry Potter rides and one of the best roller coasters the Hulk!

 

Any time you visit the parks at Universal Orlando Resort, you first walk through the streets that is Universal CityWalk. It’s a pretty cool area to visit before, during or even after your theme park experience.

 

This is an entertainment complex that features dining, entertainment and shopping. It is the cherry on top of the perfect day in-park.

 

TOP TIP: Arrive early at 8am to beat the queue & head straight to Islands of Adventure to the NEW Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure!!



The hotels at Universal which I would recommend are Universal Endless Summer Resort, Hard Rock Hotel, Loews Portofino Bay.

 

Each hotel has a different theme here are a few below:

 

Cabana Bay 3* - 1950's Beach Theme

Hard Rock 4*- Rock Music Theme

Portofino Bay Hotel 4/4+* - Italian Theme

Royal Pacific Hotel 4/4+* - South Seas Theme

 

All of the onsite Universal Hotels are easy accessible to the main parks and offer FREE water taxis & shuttle buses to all Universal parks.

 

If you are looking for a great value hotel I would recommend the Endless Summer Resort as it's a lovely NEW budget hotel but feels very modern and great quality. Another great reason to stay at the Endless Summer Resort is that you will be across the road from International Drive so you can easily visit I Drive and see all it has to offer.

 

TOP TIP: Stay 2 nights or more at the Hard Rock, Portofino Bay or Royal Pacific Hotel to benefit from FREE FASTPASSES!


Volcano Bay is a great way to spend a day of your holiday with a spectacular volcano towering over a sun swept beach.

 

When purchasing a 3 Park Universal Pass you benefit from 14 day entry into all of the parks including Volcano Bay.

 

When entering Volcano bay you get a wrist band which you scan on each ride to get all of your attraction photos for $39 per person.

 

Volcano Bay also offers a virtual line system to stop the boring hours of queues.

 

Some of the best rides at Volcano Bay are Krakatau Aqua Coaster & Ko’okiri Body Plunge.

 

If you would prefer to take it easy and relax, enjoy the sandy beach and amazing Frozen Cocktails!
