One of my most favourite places to travel to is Venice.

There is something magical about knowing you’re above water.

There is so much I love about Venice, from one corner to the next, Sansovino’s architecture to music in St Mark’s Square there is so much to see and do.

For Art lovers, Venice offers both traditional and modern. Avant-garde, as it has the Accademia of Venice (wonderful for works of Carpaccio- which give you the traditional Renaissance Venice understanding of life) and Peggy Guggenheim’s modern gallery- that has one of the most beautiful views from her terrace.

For Food lovers, Venetian cuisine is something new to other parts of Italy. Of course you get your pasta and pizza options found elsewhere. But Venetian cuisine shows many fine examples of Seafood cooking. With fresh fish caught every day these are a delight. They also have Venetian Spritz to sip whilst in a café people watching or resting your legs after days of sight-seeing.

For History lovers, the Serenissima hosts a full history of Doges. You can visit the Doges Palace and tour where the Doge lived. Or Sansovino’s Library were some of the greatest literature was stored for many years- open to the public. Elsewhere in Doge’s palace you can visit criminals were kept in the cellar–or visit the bridge of sighs- were prisoners would sigh upon their last view of Venice.

For hotel buffs, some of the most beautiful accommodation is in Venice. The setting of Johnny Depp’s film the Tourist- the Danieli, is a recommended place to stay if you’re looking for luxury in your break. Hotel Canaletto is an option for those wanting to be close to both Rialto Bridge and St Mark’s Square - a wonderful 3*.

Venice really does have so much to offer.
