Dubai is where east meets west and old meets new. The old is the Creek where you can sail on an ‘Abra’ (water taxi) or at night there is a Dhow dinner cruise.
The Gold Souk, Spice Souk and Perfume Souk are all close to each other but if you prefer high street names there are several malls to visit. One mall not to be missed is the Mall of the Emirates, where you will find Ski Dubai and if you like adventure take a 4x4 trip on the sand dunes on a desert safari, the skill of the drivers is to be praised and after your thrills you can sit back and enjoy a traditional night in the desert.
Of course the iconic 7* hotel the Burj Al Arab is one of many sights to see in Dubai, where inside you will be captivated by its décor. If you decide to stay elsewhere, you can still see this hotel by sampling afternoon tea or choose to dine there after you have sampled cocktails on the top floor, taking in the stunning view of Palm Island.
Along Jumeirah Beach you will find stunning hotels plus the waterpark Wild Wadi and for bars and night clubs the Madinat is along this stretch of beach. For dining, Dubai has a wide selection of international cuisine, if you want to dine with locals head around the creek area. The list of things to see and do grows constantly in Dubai as is it forever changing.
Highly recommended is a visit to the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa.
