Discover Florence & Pisa
Florence is the capital of the Tuscany region known for its renaissance art and architecture.
A starting point for many is the famous Ponte Vecchio, this wide medieval stone bridge has several jewellery and gift shops.
This city is great for walking as you explore the Galleria dell'Accademia to stare in amazement at Michelangelo’s David.
The dome of Il Duomo, Cathedral is always in view and well worth a visit before you immerse yourself in art at the Uffizi Gallery showing the works by Da Vinci, Botticelli, and Titian.
Don’t forget to rub the nose of Il Porcellino, Pietro Tacca’s Baroque bronze boar sculpture, to bring you luck.
Only a short journey from Florence is the 14th century leaning tower of Pisa, which is in the Piazza dei Miracoli (Square of Miracles) you can spend a leisurely time in the cathedral or walk a little further afield to see the Blue Palace and walk the ancient streets of Pisa where you can enjoy an Italian ice cream from one of the street vendors.
