Each island is reached by speedboat or seaplane transfers and is blessed with deserted beaches of soft white powder sand, lagoons and coral reef. Below the ocean is a world waiting to be discovered with 900 species of exotic fish, sharks, turtles, whales and Manta rays – a haven for divers.
Northern Atolls – The least developed region it is the ideal place to experience the Maldivian way of life with pristine waters and marine life of Baa Atoll. This reserve has one of the largest groups of Coral Reef in the Indian Ocean.
Central Atolls – This area attracts marine life from the open sea and divers from all over the globe. Get up close and personal with whales, sharks and some of the world’s largest fish, or discover hammerhead sharks in the northern areas.
Male Atolls – This area is home to many of the resorts accessed by speedboat. It is ideal for water lovers, with snorkelling and diving in addition to some of the country’s best and most famous surf breaks.
Southern Atolls – This area has grown very quickly, although still very undiscovered with dive sites, remote surf breaks, pristine white beaches and luxurious resorts.
Low humidity and blue skies can be found between December and February. Good weather in March and April, rain is expected between May and November, although it is still warm and this is when the marine life is at its best
