Daniel Wilson’s Blog For a cruise ship the Marco Polo is relatively small with only 720 passengers but for its size it still has a lot to offer. The cabins are all spacious and our cabin which was premium on deck six was comfortable, clean and furnished to a good standard considering it is a 50 year old ship. In fact the whole ship was clean and all the staff were polite and helpful.
Where the food was concerned there was plenty to variety and considering the price of a cruise on the Marco Polo compared to other big cruise ships I found it hard to fault for the price. We had 6 courses and although if felt rushed and there was no time for small talk with the other guests we still enjoyed our meal. This ship for its size, still offers show lounges and bars which you have on a big cruise ship but of course for its size some will find them rather small but it still has a pool and hot tubs on the top deck and with weather permitting they will have a barbecue around the pool. Prices for their cruises are similar to a hotel and the all-inclusive option is great at just £15pppd Gratuities are the cheapest at sea at £5pppn IMPORTANT – Tilbury docks has no porters for luggage so not ideal for anyone who would struggles with their luggage. Hull does offer porters but has steep steps to the ship. Overall the ship given her age was good and felt good value due to the prices they sell for.
